The archaeological exhibition, opened in September of 2017, presents items from the Mesolithic period until the early middle ages from the area encompassing Ponidzie, with one of its more interesting places being Wiślica.
The exhibits presented were selected from the collections of the Wiślica Archeological Museum, a division of the National Museum in Kielce, and from the Archaeology Department of the National Museum in Kielce. They come from excavations conducted on sites including settlements and graveyards, while some are donations. They include pottery, tools, weapons, and jewellery depicting the rich history of the Ponidzie and Wiślica settlements since the middle of the stone age (around 7900 BCE) until the early middle ages (mid. 13th century CE). The items serve as a source of information about ancient cultures and peoples who inhabited these lands, showing us the old methods of agriculture, burial rites, beliefs and manufacturing.
Among the gathered exhibits, there are items unique on the national scale, proving the far reaching contacts of the region. These include a copper axe from the area around Wiślica and items which are a part of the bronze treasure of the Lusatian culture from Witowo.
